History

Edna & Ernie Bushnell were longtime residents of Gleneagle. Ernie Bushnell was the Chairman of CBC when it was composed of both radio and television. When he subsequently left the CBC he created the well-known Ottawa radio station CJOH. He was a benefactor to many causes, not the least of which was the Gatineau River Yacht Club and of course, the Larrimac Golf & Tennis Club. Ernie died in 1977 and his widow became a Club member that year. The Bushnell Trophy, donated in 1965, is awarded each year at the September classic called the “Beef & Green”.

Competition	Mixed 4 ball, 18-hole.
Open to	All senior men and women with official handicaps. Generally speaking, this is a Four Ball, Best Ball competition. A man and a woman play as partners, each playing their own ball. The lower net score of the partners is the score recorded for the hole. There is no penalty if one partner fails to complete the hole. The team with the lowest net score for 18 holes wins the match.

Draw	Partnerships are the choice of the competitors. RCGA rules govern all play except as may be modified by local rules.
Handicap	To be one half the team’s collective handicap.
Ties	Ties using retrogression will break a tie for low net.
Prize	1^st - Bushnell Trophy, Gift certificate. Runner-up, Gift Certificate.
