Event: Junior Boy’s Stroke Play Championship, Low Net(1992)

History

This event, also known as the Captain’s Trophy, was established in 1984 by Brian Clarke to recognize players with established handicaps. The Boy’s Stroke Championship (Hugh Massy Baker Trophy) and the Boy’s Stroke Play Low Net Championship (Captain’s Trophy) are normally played at the same time. Between 1984 & 1992, the Low Gross and Low Net winner’s were both recorded on Captain’s Trophy with the Low Gross repeated on the Hugh Massy Baker Trophy. This practice ended in 1992 and this trophy became exclusive to the Low Net Champion and the Hugh Massy Baker Trophy to the Gross score Champion.
