The Story of an Irish Pioneer Family, Low, Quebec, 1850-1925

This 2025 publication is the culmination of years of research by author Martin Lamontagne, who acquired a century-old home on Martindale Road in Low in 2002. His book covers a 75-year period, starting with a historical overview of the Outaouais, the Gatineau Valley, and Low, the arrival of a large number of Irish people during the Great Famine in Ireland, and the story of one young Irish family, the ones who ended up settling on his Martindale property.
