Floodlighting St. Stephen's Church
When Father André Gauvreau was named temporary pastor of St. Stephen's, Old Chelsea in March 1983 one of his first impressions was how unassuming the church looked at night.
After being named permanent parish priest in July 1983, and with the help of a grant, extensive renovations to the church began. Finally on September 27, 1984 Father André's dream of seeing the church under the lights was realized.
The lighting system consists of 2 low energy mercury vapour floodlights: a 1000 watt for the base and a 400 watt half way up. The floodlighting was devised and installed by Normand Larose of Old Chelsea.
