An agreement with Tiberius Wright
“In a small dark pocket book of Father's (which l presume he had in his pocket at the time the agreement was made) there is the following memorandum in pencil"—W.F.
1834 — Sept. 29th Agreed with Mr. (Tiberius) Wright for the Gatineau Falls farm at £100 for the first year and £200 per annum for the 9 years following, then to take it for £4000 if I like it.
"Note — the money is in Halifax currency which contains 4 dollars to the £1-0-0. Hence the sums above would be $400, $800 and $16,000."
"The Gatineau Falls farm contained about 2000 - 2400 acres." — W.F.
