Arthur O'Neil's Hotel

The late Ruth Arnold of Chelsea. Que. poses behind a sign which she bought at an auction sale in I976 when some of the contents of the former O'Neil's Hotel, on the northerly outskirts of Chelsea, were dispersed.

This one-time hostelry, established about I860, was damaged by fire in 1963 following which it was cut down to one storey in the re-building as a private residence.

The first meeting of the Council of the Municipality of West Hull was held in O‘Neil's Hotel in 1875.
