George Cross, a grandson of the immigrant Isaac Cross, married Mary Ellen Kennedy in 1901, and the couple first lived here in a log cabin originally built by the Daly family.

In 1909, they built a brick house, where they raised a family of three children. They later moved the log cabin to the back of the property. The barns and other farm buildings were located across the road.
